A quick survey of sorts for our members. New drugs are coming out all the time, but some of the old standby drugs are still being used

I couldn't tell you exactly What I was on. It was called R-CHOP and I had a drawer full of preventative meds, most of which were unused. By the time I got to the point of needing chemo. with non-hodgekins, I had come through endometrial, breast and malignant melanoma with
just surgery and radiation. By the time I needed chemo., I trusted my drs. so much I would have done whatever they said. Besides, I knew God was in charge so no point in questioning. New treatment or old, my drs. at UF Cancer in Orlando...and God took excellent care of me through all 4 cancers. I've been cancer-free since 2017.

I have noticed this quote is gaining popularity lately. I see it in advertisements on TV and hear it in radio ads. I guess it's the new Y.O.L.O.. My best life? I will say that my standards have been reduced as the years go by. Now a good day for me is to not have to go to work, take a day off maybe or a weekend day and do things around the house or in my woodshop. I love building things and the shop is sort of my "quiet time". So a good day is spending it in the shop listening to the radio and making things for people. Sweetie always has a few things she wants so that is a start, then I add to that things I just want to try and there's always some of the rest of the family that toss something on to the list.

To me living one's best life means doing nothing that might harm another person and finding a way every single day to brighten another's path. My mother had to go into nursing care about a year ago. Some of the other residents at her facility never have a visitor. I'm sure they feel abandoned and alone. As simple a thing as a smile, a few words, a touch on the arm or an arm around a shoulder is a huge thing in their empty day. It's a small thing , takes moments of my time but to see a smile appear on a hopeless face uplift me as well.

I take that to mean that no matter what your status or rank in life is we should try to make the most of every day we have as we are not promised the next day.
