2012 is ending and 2013 is only a few days away! :) How are you planning to celebrate/spend this New Year's Eve?

Are you making any New Year's resolutions?

I personally have never really made resolutions. As far as celebrating, we usually have a big potluck party at my house with family and friends. We play some fun games I've made up, that get adults and kids participating. :) I love ending and starting a new year surrounded by the people I love. Being able to spend New Year's eve with them means so much to me. Throughout the years I've realized how fast the years go by, how precious time is and how important it is to dedicate that time to what's really important in life.

I'm seriously thinking about drinking 1 or 2 glasses of wine too many...lol. New Years 2012, I was laying in bed, sick from chemo. This year....I'll be having some fun!!

Last year I was worried about my biopsy results and in pain from the biopsy (it was done on Dec 30) but I still went to a party with friends, as they did not want me to be alone. This year I will be at the same party, with the same friends, but this year I will be in better spirits, as I am now a cancer survivor.

My wife and I will have an epic party night. First there will be supper, I will grill something. After dinner, we will sit on the couch and try to not fall asleep until midnight, have a toast of champaigne, at midnight, then throw the rest away since it's nasty, then go to bed.

Wooooo Hooooo, party down.......we need to get out more often.

Going to spend it with family, that time is very precious now. I do want to make the resolution to be healthier (ha), eat more nutritious foods and work out.

I will be spending New Year's eve with friends. I have two options this year, a party in my building or a quite get together with friends who live near NYU. I think a lot will depend on how I feel Monday night, I have the last infusion of my current cycle tomorrow (Thursday), so I will be playing it by ear.

I suspect that at midnight on new years I will have our dog Lucy planted firmly on my lap as usual. It seems like someone always shoots off fireworks and the noise scares her so she alway goes for my lap. Apparently the only place she feels safe.

As for resolutions the only one I will make is to keep fighting the cancer and hopefully keep winning. I hope every one of our friwends here at WhatNext make the same resolution.

By the way tickling, there is no such thing as 1 to 2 glasses too many of wine on Ney Years eve, unless you are driving, so just drink the entire bottle!

We have a tradition of going out to an early dinner with a few family members & close friends. Then back to our home for dessert and champagne. Even tho' the chemo has zapped my tolerance for food & alcohol, I made the dinner reservations. My husband deserves a bit of "normal" back in his life and I look forward to having a non-cancer related outing!

We usually go out for dinner the night before New Years Eve to avoid the crowds, etc. Then, New Years Eve is free for a quiet evening to reflect on the past year and plan for the New Year. This year, we will certainly be most joyful that the "year from XXX" has passed -- I have finished treatment and my husband's broken back is healing nicely so we are looking forward to a much better year in 2013. God Bless us all in 2013!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I will have a nice dinner at home. A few glasses of wine and then watch a few movies if we can stay awake that long. We both work on New Year's Eve so I'm sure keeping it low key will be exactly what the dr ordered. Happy New Year to everyone!!
