About brain mets and Lung cancer- A pep talk.

I have seen a number of questions or people with brain mets from Lung cancer. I would like to say that this may not be as bad as it seems. I have met many people on blogs who have had wonderful painless treatment with cyber knife, proton therapy and other pin point radiation treatments that have left them cancer free for several years. Many people where they had just a few mets to brain and then over the course of several years the cancer had not spread any where else and the radiation killed it. When we talk about 20 % survival at 5 years for LC thats still 50,000 people and these are old numbers because the real success in LC has come over the last 5 years and those improvement numbers have not hit the stats yet. There are many many experts that say we will have the CURE for LC in the next 5-10 years..I am holding onto the 5 year goal and I think everyday..Dear Lord help me make it to the cure. Help me stay fit, eat right, reduce stress and stay calm so I can make it to the cure.
