All through chemo I had a rough time. My grandmother BEAT ME DOWN about trying acupuncture. I finally gave in the last week of chemo and to my surprise, I had very little issues and recovered much quicker. I'm not going to say that acupuncture works and you should try it because I'm still a skeptic but I can tell you that my last week of chemo was much easier. Maybe there is something to it after all.

I didn't have chemo but i had acupuncture twice at the being of rads. NEVER AGAIN. I now have nerve damage in my hand/fingers due to it. I was referred by my physical therapist so thought he'd be ok.

I have not tried Acupuncture yet, but have regular massages and energy work - which really helps. I have also had Acupupressure -which is a massage that targets the energy meridians that acupuncture does, it's divine.

I did both acupuncture and massage regularly before the cancer diagnosis but once I started treatment my acupucturist had me come every week-usually the day after chemo if possible and I believe it really made a big difference on how I felt and as ticklingcancer said-very little issues. Kept going weekly thru radiation too. costly but worth it-I still go but now monthly. Helps with pre-existing back issues and the new aches from AL's. Highly recomend if you can to try it...

I did use acupuncture and Chinese herbs all through chemotherapy and I found it to be extremely helpful. It kept me detoxing so that I wasn't so sick from the chemo drugs. I also recently sat in on a webinar put on by Johns Hopkins Integrative Medicine Center and they said they were having very good luck using acupuncture during chemotherapy, especially for neuropathy. Chemo is pretty hard on your nerves and many suffer from neuropathy afterward. They mentioned that it actually worked better if you started acupuncture at the same time as starting chemotherapy rather than waiting until afterward. I have notes on this webinar if you'd like to see them. Hope this helps!
