After having a section of colon taken out, I was on yearly colonoscopies

Now we've gone to every 3 years. I don't mind having them done and encouraged the doctor to keep them frequent, but he says they are not needed that often. How often are you having them done? I realize those that haven't had colon cancer aren't going to be as frequent.

I was on 5 years because of turning 50, then after finding polyps twice 8 of them total, I was put on 3 years, then after that one, they only took out one, it was negative. After that, I was told back to 5 years. So, I guess it's different depending on the individual.

I was told every 5 years but my oncologist said he prefers every three years due to the kind of polyps they removed

After diagnosis of colon cancer from colonoscopy at 50, I had next ones at intervals of 1 year, 1 year, 3 years and next will be 3 years again.

I am Stage IV rectal cancer survivor. I had my first one a year after my treatment ended. It was clear. Now I have them every 3 years. I still have CEA tests every 3 months and scans every 6 months. I am 4 years out from my diagnosis.

I had one 12 months after my resection. One small non-cancerous polyp was found and removed. Next procedure expected in 5 years.

Don't forget that Greg is a Drummer and plays in a Band. I hear that he's pretty good too.

Fellow colon cancer'er here: I had them every year for the first 5 years, then moved out to 3 years for the next 2 years and now every 5. I am 12 years out from diagnosis - stage IV.
