Sorry Kr just has to be the right person to come along that has the same type of cancer as you or who has been through that type? Wish I could help but I know nothing about your cancer. All I can do is wish you luck and don't wish this upon anyone having to have the same awful surgery again.
As with U of M that is where I had my surgery they are wonderful with somethings but like anywhere else they have their faults believe me I found a few of them. Hope someone finds you and can help with your questions.
Good luck Susie

Hi krbrowndog,
I'm sorry nobody with a similar experience has come up yet. We are still a growing network so hopefully someone will weigh in soon! In the meantime, I will see if I can find someone via Twitter and our Facebook page who can provide you with some insight.
Thank you,
Karen

My husband has squamous cell cancer on the tongue. He had surgery-then radiation and remained clear for 1 1/2 years, then it reappeared on his tongue and operated on. A lump also was found in his neck and found to be inoperable due to being on the carotid artery. The doctors evaluated him for chemo/radiation. Chemo did nothing for the tumor and all treatments have now stopped. We are feeding him as many whole, natural foods and fresh squeezed juices as we can, and he is feeling much better and with a lot more energy. This is an awful, and agressive cancer. I wish you the best.

I have had a 33 day course of radiation and am now 8 weeks out from the last tx. The tissue is very swollen and seem to be to be growing back. I have been looked at a couple of times and have been reassured, however the implants I have in my jaw are now almost completely covered again by tissue. I am worried that the cancer has come back. Can a person go through radiation twice (or more) or am I stuck now with surgery and/or chemo? help, anyone....
