Any side effects after a bone scan?
Asked by teddyfuzz on Tuesday, October 9, 2012
Any side effects after a bone scan?
The bone scan sounds like a fairly simple procedure - I go in, they inject me with radioactive stuff and then I come back 3 hours later for the scan. I'm having this done tomorrow and wondering if the radioactive stuff causes any side effects. Just want to make sure I'm prepared if I start peeing neon green or glowing in the dark.

I had no side effects. You may have an alergy to the radio active stuff, but they wont know if you have never had it. I am not alergic and had no problems with it. I have had 3 pet scans that also use it and 1 bone scan. good luck. It's a good time to sleep.

Easiest test of all and no noteworthy sci-fi events. Sorry.

I had one once, in 24 years of procedures thats all. Was painless, took a while and I had to stay still. That was the hardest part. I can't sit still.
