Any Stage IV cancer survivors who are now considered cancer free?

I would love to interview (or at least converse with) any cancer survivors who were at Stage IV and have come back from that, and are considered to be cancer free. I ask because I have more than a few subscribers to my website who are Stage IV and I would love to be able to offer them hope and inspiration from real survivors. Thanks in advance for your help!

I am a year out of my stage IV cancer. I am still in active treatment in case it comes back, but supposedly I am cancer free. The mental and emotional toll is the worst of all, but if they have a good support network and someone nearby, that can do wonders.

I am stage IV and a year out from diagnosis . Took chemo and now on Arimidex . Feeling great. Bone lesions healed over and liver lesion shrunk. Cancer marker is at normal level . A year out may not be a long time but I am feeling great ! I have high expectations for the future.

I am Stage IV. 5 years out from being diagnosed. My scans have shown no cancer twice, 2 years ago and 3 months ago. Oncologist tried another chemo drug on me, pill form, that only worked for about 6 months. So he put me back on Abraxane which has gotten rid of tumors to neck, bone and liver. I am sure he will try something different at some point. I consider myself cancer free when scans and blood work are normal.

I will follow the info you get on this...nervously. I am 5 1/2 years past diagnosis (stage IV) Breast cancer, with additional tumors on upper spine and liver...6 tumors total. 18 months of chemo (3 dif. protocols) worked and clear last 3 scans. However, last check up I asked my oncologist if they count 'cancer free' from date of diagnosis or date of 1st clear scan? He took a deep breath and looked at me like he didn't want to say this...but he did..."when you are stage IV...you are never really 'cancer free'..." Ouch. I did not like hearing that. However, it did bring home the fact that I must stay on top of taking meds (just Arimidex now) and getting tests. Chilling. Besides that punch in the gut...I feel great, glad to be alive...not many stage IV people out there, it seems. Trying to live life to the fullest.
