Yes, that's how my boyfriend was diagnosed with colon cancer. He was having trouble breathing and was then diagnosed with asthma. But the medicine didn't make him better. Within two weeks after the diagnosis, he was in severe pain and breathing was so difficult he couldn't talk. His lung had collapsed from cancer which had spread from the colon to the lung lining (and he had pneumonia and there was cancer on the liver and phenomenally anemic - and it wasn't diverticulitis that was ailing him earlier). It was scary dire.

Fast forward a couple of months on chemo, there's a small lingering cough, his anemia is nearly all gone, he's able to breath well enough to do 5 min on the treadmill. He gets another scan at the end of this month!

Yes I have, with me I it was found in February 2012 just months before 2 years cancer free. At the time I was living in Florida and there they wanted to do radiation lucky my 2 daughters convinced us to move back to Wisconsin. Met with the 2nd opinion team at St Luke's in Milwaukee and they felt chemo was the route to try first. I started chemo in April 2012 and finished 6 months later with a few minor problems.

When I met with team I was told that colon cancer does not jump the liver and go straight to the lung, if that was the case they wanted to write the case as a paper. Well the info that was gathered from the surgery showed that the tumor was very close to the rectal area and yes in that spot it's not abnormal. There went my fame, but I'm still vertical that's real good. Anyway I've had my first 2 month checkup and the doctor felt I was cancer free, in March I have scheduled a chest x-ray and a visit with the oncologist hopping that I stay this way.

If it should return there are many options yet including radiation, but it's always in GOD's hands. I'm happy to read that he is doing better!! GOD Bless!

Thank you. I started chemo again on Feb 25th, 2013. Hopefully it takes care of the spot on my lung.

I have stage 4 colon and had 2 tumors in my lung. I have been on chemo for almost a year and a half and they have reduced to almost nothing. Good luck with your treatment and remember even tho its hard, keep a positive attitude and get a good support system. If you should need anything you can write me!
