Are bruises and “fever periods” symptoms of leukemia?

I have a friend that has asked me about these, but I don't remember having these symptoms.

I had a low grade fever pretty consistantly as I went into accelerated and blast phase. bruising is pretty common if platelets become an issue

Having Leukemia can make you more prone to infections, so fever would be a symptom of this. Night sweats can also be a symptom of leukemia. If platelets are low, bruising can occur more easily. I know I have bruises that appear & I have no idea how they got there.

I did bruise very easily prior to my diagnosis...but as far as periods go, mine were extremely heavy with big cots on day 1&2.....then virtually nothing for the next 5-6 days. Pretty regular on timing though.

Prior to my being diagnosed I did bruise more easily than normal. I also had low grade temp and was seen by regular physician, however no blood tests were done. He assumed I had sinus infection. One should never assume, it makes an a** out of them and me! A month later I was diagnosed. I am now 21 1/2 months post transplant and looking forward to my 2 year anniversary!
