Are you making use of takeout/home delivery restaurant services?

Greg mentioned maybe getting takeout from Cracker Barrel on their way home from Vanderbilt. Great idea to treat yourselves. I have been hesitant to do takeout because not sure how safe it would be. I finally caved yesterday and got a sub at our locally owned quick stop. It is one way we can help support local business. Not sure the big national chains need our help as much as small locally owned restaurants which are struggling. Some people are saying they will only order hot foods so not sure how wise my choice of a sub was.

We haven’t done any take out, but if we do, it will be a local independent. I am disgusted that Ruth Chris Steak House took $20,000,000 of stimulus $ when they had a $42,000,000 profit last year. I was glad to see that Shake Shack returned their stimulus $. The poor independent deli operator, barber, hair dresser, massage therapist, etc are left in the dust once again.....

We've been doing take out from the beginning of the closures of restaurants. We do it weekly, continuing to support the local restaurants at which we dined weekly before the closures. I'm hoping the take out business will provide sufficient support to keep these local businesses solvent.

I have a small business, we usually have 6 to 8 people working. That is a REAL small business. If you have 500 employees and currently have cash reserves of 175 million on hand, as some of these companies have reported that were granted the loans, you are NOT a small business. We applied for this same lone, we were allotted 20K not 200 million like some of these. It's no wonder the program ran out of money. Nobody was watching the big bucket of money that was sitting by the door.

As for what's we will do. Yes, I encourage everyone to get out and make up for what you have lost in the last month. Buy things if you can, eat out when you can. Your 20 dollars will help more than you know.

We do takeout once a week, also from the local restaurants we frequented what seems like so long ago. It's brought to the car by a masked and gloves employee, paid for over the phone when ordered. I figure it's as safe the the grocery pickup we do or the numerous online shopping trips I've done in the last 5weeks.

We do take out once a week or so. We have been forced into retirement and we have to see how to make our money stretch as far as we can. So a treat of carry out once a week is what we can do.

I have been doing take out once a week from some of my favorite restaurants. I kind of need it. Not being able to go to lunch or dinner with friends. Sometimes I have a Zoom meeting so it kind of feels like normal.

We are starting to and plan to order out/eat out often for a little while to help them get back on their feet. And we are tired of cooking too!

At least once a week and mostly locally owned. A local pizza place, a BBQ joint, small deli, Chinese restaurant. Ok, I went thru McD's drive thru yesterday because I had a craving...but I try to stick to the little guys. There's a brand new restaurant that opened in the strip mall 2 blocks from me. When I first saw they were going in, I was excited, because it really sounds good. They decided to go ahead and open during this. I'm hoping to do a pick up order from them this weekend.

No. I have made every meal since we were quarantined. We used to eat out A LOT and we had pizza delivered frequently ... none of that has occurred since we've been ordered to stay at home.

Some of the lines at take-out restaurants, in particular Chick-Fil-A, are two deep and way out into the street ... I'm not willing to wait in long lines... The places without long lines are generally places I'm not interested in going...

My daughter-in-law works for a steakhouse. Some evenings they have a lot of take-out customers and they're kept hopping and others, it is slow as molasses.

I saw an interview with a seafood restaurant owner last night. They have purchased 5 vehicles and started a big take-out delivery business that he plans to continue after his restaurants are open to the public again. He believes it will greatly increase his (apparently already robust) business for the long-term. I was happy to hear something positive coming out of this. (At my house, the positive is that I have discovered a bunch of new, tasty recipes :) )

Hey Molly. Of course, Tommy's is open. Granted, pickup or delivery only, but still. Tommy's is a Columbus destination....
