    arimidex vs. aromasin?

After three months on Arimidex, I met with my onc to check up on how it was going. After describing the side effects and level of pain I was experiencing, she felt that Arimidex was not the best choice for me. As she said, "This is a marathon, not a sprint, and you have to do this for five years." So she is taking me off Arimidex and putting me on Aromasin starting in a few weeks (after the side effects from Arimidex subside). Anyone have experience with Aromasin? are the side effects less than those from Arimidex?

      Hi attypatty,

I can't answer your questions but will be interested in the answers you get since I could be in the same boat. I just started Anastrozole (generic for Armidex) a couple of weeks ago. No SE yet but my onc also told me that if I don't tolerate it well she would switch me. But just to pass one my onc told me, she said it isn't that the SE of one is less or worse than the other, just that different people react differently to either of them.
