    Aromasin instead of Anastrazole

After increased joint and scar tissue pain, my doctor is swtiching me from Anastrazole to Aromasin. Has anyone done this and had fewer side effects?

      I did, but everyone's different.

I had both medicines also but, for me, the side effects were the same.

I also switched to aromosin because of side effects. I can't say they were any better. I then switched to tamoxifen and feel great. It was horrible for me on the other two drugs. Everyone is different. Hope it works for you

I took anastrozole first for almost 2 years and had many issues with side effects. I switched to aromasin and got no relief. Six months later went on tamoxifen. The joint pain got better but I got very depressed so after about 9 months I switched to letrozole. After 9 months of joint pain I quit taking everything (with my oncologist's blessing). I feel better now but still have the deQuervain's tenosynovitis I acquired on the letrozole. I got through with 4 years of these drugs but finally decided the small advantage they gave me were not worth the side effects. I've never been particularly sensitive to most drugs but the AI's and tamoxifen did NOT agree with me.

I just switched a month ago. Leg/ joint pain less but still an issue. Am going to try for awhile. My doc said if I could not tolerate he would switch me to tamixifen. I don't know why not to letrizole.

I went off all AIs for one month then made the switch from Anastrozole to Aromasin due to horrible, excruciating, debilitating joint pain. After three months on Aromasin, my joint pain finally cleared completely and now I have no joint pain. I sweat more but have almost no hot flashes anymore. A few a day as opposed to a few every ten minutes.

I was suicidal on the Tamoxifen. I also got the deQuervain's tenosynovitis but that was BEFORE both Arimidex and Letrozole. So, don't know what to blame it on. I had severe tremors from the Arimidex, and couldn't hold anything. Jbro, I just frankly quit also.
