Being contacted outside of this network?

May seem like a weird question - is anyone else receiving emails outside of the network from young African women that want to "get to know me" (don't believe they say they even have cancer)? All 3 have said they are in their 20's, some family members killed. Finding them disturbing and like there must be some kind of scam. Maybe I'm a cynic.

Please forward me the user name and they will be deleted. We do not tolerate this at all.

      Thanks for your help.

They are most definitely scams. Do not reply to them.

I have not received any emails from this group that I was disturbed by (like the ones you describe) but plenty of similar ones in another email account that I had used on a breast cancer walk as a volunteer (not African). They all wanted to connect with me to share my pain of breast cancer. I never had breast cancer but I have lost close friends to it. They did not know this so the way they addressed the connection was incorrect. It was very clearly a scam, they had gotten a hold of the email list somehow, the others in the same volunteer group I was in had also gotten weird emails. I am sorry that some people will prey on others like this, it is really sick. It does not hurt to be a bit of a cynic, Tracy

Definitely scams. I hope they aren't getting your contact info from this site.
