    Bone Mets

So my cancer vaca is over. Broke a rib last night due to hole in bone. See onc tomorrow for next step. Not sure what to expect in daily life with bone mets. Not sure if any other part is affected, scans in June were clear but for one small spot.

I understand that Fentanyl Patches are best for bone pain. They come in Many Different Strengths.... Make sure you take Stool Softeners or Miralax twice a day with it. Good Luck...Check into a Vegan Diet or The Keto Diet for Cancer....

      I am sorry :(

I don't know, but I think they will probably do radiation to the bone mets.

I can imagine the pain you are in. I hope it feels better ASAP.

Please let us know what you learn from the doctor.

Friend (stage 4 with mets to spine) had radiation and tumor shrank and so did pain. She is now holding her own with meds. She refused chemo.

Sorry for this new bump in the road. Let us know how you're doing. They should do radiation to the bone if you're in pain.

I'm so sorry to hear this. What did your oncologist have to say? What's the game plan?

We have been chasing this spot for at least a year. Had a bone biopsy in December 2016 with the results inconclusive. So we will do a pet on Tuesday and I will get results on Wednesday. At least I don't have to wait. Based on the PET either a bone biopsy will be scheduled or I will go for a second opinion. In my opinion, and based on unofficial information from a different med onc I believe it's time to make a call and begin to DO something.

Thank you guys for being so supportive.

Good for you. I did not get a correct diagnosis until I demanded further tests and then got a new doctor. For seven months I " just went along " with my doctor, but was not getting better. A second or even third opinion will give you more information and possibly more options.

That's my thinking Lynne. The attitude of my med onc -when I see him - it's been over a year - is that I have broken a rib in the past Which I have not. And let me just say now that I have I know without a shadow of a doubt that I have never cracked a rib. So he is very close to being a FORMER doc.
