What is it from? You may want to get a peg tube in your stomach for just awhile till the throat gets better. It's very easy to put in and you can either use that or eat regular....

I had three things when I had radiation to my throat area. Plain old Chloraseptic spray, a few squirts and take a bite. It works. Then magic mouthwash is a prescription the doctors can get you, and I would be surprised if they haven't already. Use it. After that, the next thing is a thicker solution with a stronger pain killer in it. You swish and swallow this one. Sorry, but I don't remember the name, but I'm sure that if you ask your radiation oncologist about them they will write you a prescription. Hope you get some relief

@GregP_WN usually has the best answers to this question and he's right. I was asking a nurse about magic mouthwash for another patient at my clinic and she told me they know what it is but there might be a problem getting a compounding pharmacy to make it because we dont have many here. So heads up, it is the best stuff, but if your area doesn't have any compounding pharmacies you may have to search a bit. I've heard a lot of people say magic mouthwash helps a lot! Good luck!!

When I had radiation to a tumor in my neck, the radiation oncologist said there was something they could prescribe to deaden my throat and esophagus so that I could eat easily. I didn't ask for it, but I know there is some help out There!

      Good luck!
