    Can it come back

I had cervical cancer and I had a hysterectomy and I was wondering is it a chance for cancer to come back? If so what kind

I am so sorry to say that cancer can always recur. Or, any of us could be faced with another kind of cancer. Hopefully there won't be either, but it can happen. I don't think anyone can tell you what kind of cancer, if any, might come up.

Here's some advice though. Please don't let worry paralyze you. Live life!

Sadly, it can come back. There are times when once you have a hysterectomy that you are in the clear. But, you always want to look forward and never let it get you down. I have cervical cancer and it has come back officially twice. Even after having the hysterectomy, but my oncologist tells me I am in the 15% of people that gets it. He said there is an 85% chance that it will never come back. But, there is always a chance. Live life and have fun!

Good things have come from my cancer though, I am in college now and I would have never gone if I hadn't gotten cancer. This community is a great place to ask questions and get virtual hugs. <3

Whether your cancer will come back depends on the type of cancer and the stage. And even that is only a guess. I have stage IV esophageal cancer and a very aggressive uterine cancer stage III the esophageal cancer has 4% survival rate and the uterine cancer has a 50% return rate even if it is stage I but I am still here almost 7 years after the diagnosis of esophageal cancer and 4 years after the return of esophageal and the diagnosis of uterine cancer. So yes it can come back. But if you adopt a healthy lifestyle it is less likely to return.
And if it does come back every day there are new therapies to fight it.

Once you have cancer it is never the end. I've had cervical cancer and Stage IIIB Nodular Melanoma and in a 10 year span. I think with a positive attitude and a great support system anything can be concurred. I'm going on 8 years out now. Good luck and try not to think about it. It's hard I know it what we call the NEW NORMAL.
