Cancer retreat trips, to get away from it all for a few days.

Have any of you participated in anything like the Reel Recovery Fishing Trips or a hiking trip sponsored by some of the companies? It looks like it might be fun to do, I am just concerned that I might not have the strength and stamina to keep up. Anyone have experience with these?

How ironic to go on a cancer retreat to forget about cancer. Kinda like trying not to think of a pink rabbit. Having said that, such retreats can be very valuable to share your journey and hear the journeys of others. Some down time, change of scenery, R&R or just lazing around can often work wonders.

One of our survivor members @ticklingcancer went to the Reel to Recovery camp several years ago and said that it was fantastic. I agree with Po that these would be very good for a patient or survivor. Sometimes it helps certain people to see that they are doing OK and comparing their own cancer journey to someone else can show them that maybe they aren't in as bad of shape as they thought. Give it a try and let us know how it works out!
