Carcinoid Tumor - metastized to liver

I started off with a lumpectomy for breast tumor -- pathology report showed it was neuroendrine tumor -- which originates in GI tract. After many tests the results are in -- I have a carcinoid tumor in the small intestine where it meets the large intestine and it has metastisized to the liver. Does anybody else out there have anything similar? It was devastating to get this news (I feel fine!) but I am over the shock and planning surgery for the small intestine tumor now. Any and all advice or info would be greatly appreciated -- I am overwhelmed right now and terrified. THX

Hi Suebo - I do not have your specific medical situation but I am a 2x ovarian cancer survivor. I do know the feeling of fear and being overwhelmed if that helps you some. I pray you find a way to get a good nights sleep. Tomorrow the surgery will be a big step to have behind you. Try, and I know it is very hard, to not jump to any conclusions. It can seem that even the same types of cancers can be treated so differently. Keep us posted and may I send some calming vibes your way.

You have a whole community out here pulling for you. You dealt w/ bad news before and you can do it again. Fear is a normal reaction, as will be the relief you feel when the operation is over. Good luck with everything.
