    CBD cream for pain

    Good Evening friends, has anyone tried CBD cream for pain? If yes, is it effective? I have a patient with headand neck cancer and would like to try it. What are your thoughts?

      Carm, what is your experience with patients using the CBD oil? I have a customer that swears by it. He is a retired Green Beret with combat wounds, fracture wounds from repeated parachute jumps, and gunshot wounds. He says it works great for him. But I talked to another customer who said it done nothing. I know we are all different, but I'm wondering how much is in the head of the person taking it. What do you think?

      @Greg,
      I'm getting some patients who are using the prescription brand CBD oil with THC that state it is effective whereas those who use the oil without the THC state that it does more with anxiety than pain. I have spoken to healthcare providers overseas who state that it is a viable alternative for pain control in countries where there are no opioid available. I'm curious to see what the consensus here might be. Incidentally, I did speak witha patient who buys the CBD for dogs and swears by it for the dogs she trains. I ordered some from Amazon to see if it will calm my puppy... She seems to like eating the furniture. Hopefully members will respond here.

      I haven't tried the cream buyout it probably is worth a try.
      My palliative doctor had a colleague whospent a year researching medical marijuana and wrote a book called "Stoned". It explores how marijuana works in the body and teaches a lot about different forms of it.

      The book says that creams are the least effective way to get relief, but it's still probably better than nothing at all.

      We have used a CDB cream, mostly for joint pain. I think it works. We have one we really liked, but they are making it anymore so we are looking for a new brand.

      We have used CBD hemp oil for both external and internal pain — very effective.

      I had a pain patch that I cut in 4ths. You don't even need to put it where it hurts. I put it on the top of my foot and it worked wonders. It was pricy at $16.

      If you take any medications that interact with grapefruit juice such as tamoxifen, it's not a good idea to use cbd. I'm in a group on Facebook where an oncology RN does a lot of research and speaks nationally regarding using cannabis for breast cancer. I've learned a lot about using medical marijuana that our doctors don't know. My oncologist said they'll be up to speed in about 10 years.
