Hi FocusedFoster, there are several (or more) blogs here on WhatNext related to this question, but I'll tell you what I took. What I took early on and what I take now are two different things, but my treatments no longer last as long as they did when I first started getting them.

      1. My mom and husband. Neither goes with me any longer, but they went for the first year or two of treatment.
      2. My phone and tablet and a charger, if needed. These days, I would also take earphones or earbuds and have some Netflix movies downloaded. Or a good book, except my concentration has gotten too bad to enjoy books all that much any more.
      3. Some people take a light blanket. I did at first, but my chemo treatment center had them so it was not necessary to take my own.
      4. Water and snacks. Again, my treatment center had/has both, but I don't always like their snacks and it is easier to have my own water.
      5. Lotion, cream, lip balm if you have dry skin/lips.
      6. Questions that you have, written down as they occur, so that you don't forget them.
      7. A good attitude.
      8. Hope.

There are probably other things people take that I am missing. You can probably search the blogs for long lists of things to take or someone can give you the links to them.

Good luck! It is not easy, but it is doable.

I also had a chemo bag, and I brought someone with me each time. I find it helped for emotional support. Bring something to snack on, I brought books and things to do, but honestly, they put Benedryl in my drip, so I ended up snoozing most of the time. I had 6 -8 hour infusions . Best wishes!
