    Chemo tips

I will be starting chemo next week. What are some things I should do to minimize the effects? So far it looks like I will be taking Rituximab and Doxorubicin. I think I will be taking 2 others but haven't seen the request on them yet.

I refused all Lymphoma Treatment like Retuxin but in my opinion IF you take it and others you must have absolute blind faith that it will work. What kind of lymphoma do you have?

To push Cllinda's advice further -- I was told to double flush the first 2 days after chemo, especially since I have cats. I went in scared to death the first time, but even with the bumps in the road I had (allergic reaction to one of the chemo drugs, chemical burn from that same drug, etc), it was NOWHERE near as bad as I feared. Oh, another piece of advice -- take all meds as your dr prescribed. Especially important with anti-nausea meds. And if you have a side effect, call your oncology team ASAP -- there is likely a med they can give you to help counteract or at least lessen the effect. And if they can't, post here 'cause someone probably has some helpful hints.
