    Chemotherapy Pill

Has anyone had any experience taking the chemotherapy pill Xeloda? Please share. I am scheduled to begin treatment using both this pill and abdominal radiation.

tired, tired ,tired...I slept alot. I also felt pretty nauseous and some hair loss. But looking back it's all over before you know it and your hair comes back thicker and eventually you feel great again.

My husband and I viewed Xeloda as such a blessing after traditional chemo regimens. We did not have to go in to the infusion centers and could travel extensively, which we did. He was on it for months, 3 500's and one 150 every morning and evening, two weeks on and one week off. It did affect his stomach and he did skip the last couple of doses a couple of times due to pain. He had some manageable skin peeling. He only stopped to prepare for a liver resection. When the cancer came back he went on carbo/taxol for five blasts and then we were so grateful to get back on Xeloda! He just stopped again to prepare for a trial. Suffice it to say we loved Xeloda both because of relative easiness and the fact it worked. Also my cousin has been on it for months for metastatic breast cancer and she lives an extremely active life. Good luck!
