    clear PET scan, new treatment

My PET yesterday showed no activity and my tumor markers are still falling, so we started me on Faslodex. No more chemo, for now. Any advice or suggestions on this med?

@barry, I still have about 20 tumors in my liver. They just aren't growing or showing activity right now. The new treatment can help keep them quiet and even shrink them more. It is a hormonal treatment, since my tumors are estrogen positive. The goal is to deprive them of estrogen so they don't grow.

TXHills, great!! I also have a liver tumor that's shrank very small. I read the other day that they can remove part of the liver and the other part will regenerate, which I didn't know.

Great news TXHill, check with your oncologist if it helps to detoxify your liver by juicing, That should help big time.
      Best of luck to you.

I am taking Faslodex now and have been for three months. I also have been taking Xgeva for two months to help make my bones stronger. I haven't had any bad side effects to either. I hope your markers continue to fall!!

@Kathy1, I am feeling better each day, as I recover from four cycles of AC chemo, prior to this. My platelets and white cells are already back to normal and my energy continues to slowly grow. As the anemia resolves, that will be a big help.

TXHills, I had AC too -- a rough ride, but strong medicine! Luckliy, the side effects clear up remarkably quickly, all things considered.
