    cough after surgery?

Had surgery 5 months ago. My cough is as bad (or worse) than ever. Is it ever going to stop. Is there anything I can take to help? I just want to sleep thru the night.

What has your pulmonologist/lung doctor said about that?

If your cough is dry or unproductive, ask the doctor about a cough medicine with dextromethorphan, such as Robitussin. That helped relieve my dad's cough for sleep.

Hello, I am an oncology/end of life nurse. In some end of life cases, a chronic cough can be a problem as well as in oncology. We always go to the one method that usually works. Put Vicks on the bottom of your feet at bedtime, throw on a pair of socks and that should quiet your cough, Good luck, Carm.

My grandma had a cough and the doctor had her take 1 mucinex in the morning and one right before bed.
Ask your doctor...it really worked for her.
