Dancing With Cancer For The 4th Time

I have a bit more about my diagnosis with a few more details. I will be trying to keep up with regular updates as we move through the next year or so. I encourage each of you to write about your diagnosis, treatments, side effects, as well as any issues that arise from you having cancer and treatments. The more information you can share, the more you will be helping others that will be diagnosed with your type of cancer in the future that may drop by looking to read about the likely treatments and procedures that they could expect. You can use as much space as you like by posting an Update from your home page. It's like your own personal blog page. Please use it freely! Here is my first post>> http://bit.ly/2PotCqw

Greg, It's about 8:30 Sunday night and I thought I'd take a quick peek at all that was going on. I don't know what to say after reading your latest news. There are no words. I can only imagine what you and Donna are going through at this moment. You've been so brave all these years. Why couldn't have #3 been the end? To be honest there are a few people I've seen that deserve this, not you. No matter how religious one is that question is on the tip of all of our tongues. I am a Christian and I know that He knows what he is doing and He has his own reasons. I have to accept that. I knew that you had been treated at Vanderbilt before. There's no finer hospital in Nashville. That's quite a ride for you and Donna. I used to live in Clarksville, not too terribly far from you. I know this may sound rather strange. Considering that you won't be able to speak naturally after the surgery, have you and Donna ever discuss learning sign language? I've always regretted not learning it when resources were closer than here. Needless to say, you are included in my prayers.
We like to say that prayers from GA pack more of a wallop than any other. As you feel up to it do keep us up to speed as much as you can. Will they appoint someone to be a temporary moderator? I was just thinking about what number I am, never gave it a thought before. I'm a 3. I've never been as brave as you though. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Donna always.

Hated to read this . So sorry that once again you have to battle this xxx disease. You must know how much you have improved the lives of so many survivors, myself included, by running this site and steering this ship. Looking forward to positive progress reports and licking this disease in the xxx for the fourth, and FINAL time. Sending lots of wheelbarrows and dump trucks loaded with support your way.

Dog gone it Greg, I always have a typo error. Licking will not work, but a good stiff kick or two might. Keeping fingers crossed.

Greg, I have read your recent blog and can only say how very sorry I am that this XXXXX disease is knocking at your door again. It is unbelievable that you are facing yet another battle with it. I am relatively new to this “club” and this site has been a godsend to me. All your work to manage the site is obvious. We all feel your support and hope our collective support brings some comfort. Keeping you and Donna in my thoughts.

All of a sudden this is getting real. Someone who started out as a disembodied voice offering words of wisdom, encouragement and humor has grown over the months I've participated in WhatNext into a real human being whom I've come to love, respect and care deeply for. This SUCKS!!! The thing we all have hanging over our heads and dread hearing has singled you out. I hope it helps as you start this journey yet again to know you've got alot of friends pulling for you.

Wow, I'm struggling to get past just this one diagnosis. It's kicking my butt! But from reading what you and others have been through that is so much harder than mine, I have the confidence that I too can do it. I hope you do well this time as you have in the past.

Thank you all for your positive thoughts and well wishes. As of today, I still don't have a date for the surgery. I'm sure they are verifying insurance, again.....I mean, they have verified it 3 times this month alone, what more to they need? Anyway, in the meantime, Donna and I are researching things that we will need after this surgery. It's going to be a life-changer for sure. We are looking at recipes for feeding tubes, different blenders to use and it seems like a hundred other things.
