Yo-- I'm here---Trump Dumps-- Yeah- In january, I felt like I was having a nervous break down-I wasn't a nice person to be around. Then Boise wrote that she was off, and she knew it was the Trump Dumps.

You know what? I had a diagnosis, and I began feeling better. I'm grateful for Boise's diagnosis, as I probably would have gone quite insane after I lost my voice FEB 9. Then they gave me steriods to try to bring my voice back. I gained 5 lbs. and had security called on me, other than that, the steriod didn't seem to make any difference

      Thank you.

Why dont we have a cut off of say 100 and the next person who wants to speak opens a new thread called Politics #whatever number it is?

Honestly it feels good to vent and the moments between reading and responding reminds one to think.

      http://www.gregpalast.com/election-stolen-heres/

I had almost forgotten this. Greg Palast is a Pulitzer Prize winning investigative reporter who wound up working for the British Guardian because nobody in news wants to investigate anything any more. He explains how it is that Trump was able to win so handily.

Boise, You do know that Betsey Wetsy DeVoss, our new Sec. of Ed. is from MI, my home state. She is a billionaire (really & truely) and is married to the head of the Amway Corp., the biggest pyramid scam corporation around. They peddle cheap cosmetics & vitamins & the like.

Little Miss Betsey spent her school days in fancy-schmancy very private schools, her kids as well. She never has set foot in a public school, although she did brag about once being a "mentor" in one! She is known in MI as anti-public schools & pro school vouchers for private ones.

Betsey, during her comformation hearing, gave a rather interesting comment that she believed guns in schools were fine & dandy as the kids needed protection from grizzly bears. Sort of a Sara Palinesque comment! (Oh, I miss ole' Sarah these days, but we have so many others to giggle at)
By the way, grizzly bears are not too common in MI, black bears.....yes

Oh yes, I referred to her in my heated discussion as Betsey Wetsy. I am not as nice on FB as I am here. I follow the FOX channel on FB because they have the most accurate weather and they get it to you right away. I dropped this bomb on a discussion about the Oxford comma. I pointed that the lack of use of the Oxford comma was and indication of the decline of education. That lit the fuse for a real bomb.

What are we going to do
      Maybe just enjoy it
      Yeah me and you
      ...

      Now Love has broken out
      Hate seems to have disappeared
      We're in big trouble now
This is what the world feared

      Bankers jumping out of windows
      Fortunes being lost
The Armies of the world went home
      But at what cost

      Defense Department disbanded
We'd need a Department of Peace...
We could all smoke a Doobie
And we wouldn't need the Police

      SO let's all Pray together

@barryboomer, federal funds are a very small part of the financing for Meals on Wheels. I saw an article today that private donations are way up for that program.

My son lives in an RV park in New Mexico. There is a "veteran" (he didn't complete boot camp before getting kicked out) there who does Meals on Wheels. He takes their meals, even while he is in the process of cooking his own dinner. He takes the milk cartons and gives them to another family at the park. The rest of meal is stacked into the park''s refrigerator, until it is full. Then, the meals are thrown away. He never eats them. He just gets them because he is entitled to them...

What a waste. People who DO need and would use them are cheated out of them by this weirdo. (How many others are like him? I certainly do hope he is the only one who abuses the system.)

There are always fraudulent folks that take advantage of the system.(Look at our politicians!) However most people are not like that.
I worked delivering Meals on Wheels & can assure you of that. The degree of poverty in our country is disgusting and sad and totally unforgivable. Some of the things I saw were worthy of a 3rd. world country.
Our so-called president should show more compassion towards the poor in his focus on the budget. But he won't.

I read that the Donald is demanding the Wall is 35 ft high, and is footed 6 feet under ground. Threre are areas in NM, along the border where the sand is deeper than 6 ft. Quite simply- with spring storms-with constant winds that run from 45 mph to 60 mph, day in and day out- the wall would blow over---

The illegitimate, traitorous con man in the White House (except on the weekends) has no ability to care about anyone other than his immediate family (and who knows if he loves even them?). We who aren't fooled by him will dance in the streets when he is gone. And when the whole fkg rest of them are, too. I CAN'T WAIT until they all sleep with the fishes.

Carool I see little evidence of Trump's love for his immediate family, He has completely blow-off one daughter. He publicly treats Melena like he doesn't even know she is there. When we see pictures of him at Mar a Lago we never see him playing with Barron (who in their right mind would name his son Barron) His family are trophies when they are no longer of use to him he discards them. I do not wish anyone would sleep with the fishes. But I do wish the some of them would be routed to proper mental programs and others would given board and room in lesser government facilities that the White House (if you get my drift.)

Barron is better than some names---Like Fruit Stand. One my kids' teacher taught at a mostly rural and hippie school. They told the parents to write the child's name on one side- and where they got off the bus on the other side.

Fruit Stand showed up, and seemed hearing impaired and stupid. The kindergarten teachers had to go over and lead him everywhere, or get ready for nap or coloring.

At the end of the day, they turned his tag over to find his bus stop-- It had a normal name like Mike. They had him get off at the fruit stand, and they changed their records to the normal name.
I've been with kids named Genesis, Heavenly flower, Humming Bird, Lord, Count, Princess, Major, Empress, King, Queenie, and their dogs are usually named Sid or Mack

And clean air and water would also be helpful. These issues are political rhetoric and I for one need them in my "stuff" if I am going to be a survivor. I certainly fear that I for one may NOT survive. If healthcare, cancer research. and environmental protections are not your concern in regard to your survival then just skip this question No one is forcing you to read this. Patricia----There are hundreds of questions that don't have anything about politics---people are asking about radiation, radiation burns, how to prepare for radiation. We have one dear breast cancer member where her chemo seems to be killing her, and she says that she can't take it anymore; we are telling her to see another oncologist, take somebody with her and speak plainly to him. We have a 1,000 questions about breast cancer. We have questions of we knew we had cancer on our own. People ask about sex, sleeping, how to eat with mouth and throat radiation.

People come here for a short time when somebody is dying; several years ago a sweet and kind woman from California found out her father was dying from lung cancer in Washington. Her parents hid it from her. It was horrible, and she wrote us several times a day. She had to deal with her father--her elderly mother wanted her to move to Washington, but she would lose her job. Her parents refused to move downstairs or get hired help. Then we didn't hear from her. Several months later she came back. Her father died. She put the house up for sale. She also got a larger apartment and moved her mother in with her. She thanked us for advice-some which stopped her from spending money unnecessarily. She thanked us for somebody always answering her immediatley and with kindness. She thanked us for our good vibes from the non-religious and prayers from the religious Whatnexters. I still think of her, and her mother.

Meanwhile, we are humans that are more than cancer. We have minds that think. We have our fears and hopes. You say that you get this in your stuff- I guess you mean-Wall- well don't read anything that bothers you or don't like or comment, and you won't have it on your wall.

From the Washington Post---At the Pentagon, they’re privately calling the former Marine officer and fighter pilot who’s supposed to keep his eye on Defense Secretary Jim Mattis “the commissar,” according to a high-ranking defense official with knowledge of the situation. It’s a reference to Soviet-era Communist Party officials who were assigned to military units to ensure their commanders remained loyal.

EPA also has a Trump appointed monitor that seems to be trying to run the EPA-according to the WaPo https://www.washingtonpost.com/powerpost/white-house-installs-political-aides-at-cabinet-agencies-to-be-trumps-eyes-and-ears/2017/03/19/68419f0e-08da-11e7-93dc-00f9bdd74ed1_s

Most members of President Trump’s Cabinet do not yet have leadership teams in place or even nominees for top deputies. But they do have an influential coterie of senior aides installed by the White House who are charged — above all — with monitoring the secretaries’ loyalty, according to eight officials in and outside the administration. says the WaPo No wonder Trump believes Obama has a shadow government.

Well, he was in Mira Lago again. I did not see Air Force One all by itself at the end of a runway so I thought maybe he had already left. But nooooooo. On the way back from my raw & living pot luck gathering I saw the plane 'hidden' in the midst of another dozen or so other private planes.

He is trying to get it called the Southern White House but his club isnt entitled to such cachet. Camp David is government owned as a part of a military installation.l. When Trump turns Mira Lago over to the Feds and stops pocketing membership fees I might consider thinking of it differently.

I hope Palm Beach County and NYC consider not volunteering manpower and resources for the protection of the Trumpeteers. I heard the "kids" are in Aspen celebrating the 400 million dollar plus Chinese trade where the Chinese get 2 floors of luxury apartments to enjoy when their fast tracked visas come thru and Ivanka's hubby and Daddy get out of a billion plus dollar mortgage for only 200 or so million. The Chinese are picking up the rest. Gratitude.

Livewith if it bothers you that someone is cheating, report them but dont spread rumors if you dont know they are true.

I picked a bad time to start a book called "White Trash" which seems to be a history of classism in the USA. I read about a company in the 1800s which sold pretty dresses colored green by arsenic. Lots of people died. The company thrived.

I must have been born in a bubble to think I was entitled to anything or born with any rights at all.

I was on the horn with a friend who was walking in St. Louis when ambulances came by so loudly we had to stop our conversation two or three times. Mr. Berry was working on a new album at the time of his death.

There are things that show up as questions or in my feed (because I follow someone participating in a conversation) that have no relevance to me. I just skip that particular thread and go one to something that does interest me. No harm, no foul. There are some people I'm not fond of. I do the same thing. Again -- no harm, no foul.

Today's politics do affect as, as both cancer survivors and as human beings. Usually my charitable donations end up going to my favorite cat shelter. In November, I donated to both Planned Parenthood and the ACLU. I'm kinda proud to be a card carrying member of the ACLU. And just listening to some of the people at the townhalls w/their reps. The lady who yelled at her guy that if not for ACA (ie Obamacare), her husband would have died from his cancer. These things are heart breaking. And highly relevant to the lives of at least some of our fellow WhatNexters. Not to be mean, but if you don't like the conversation, please go on to the next thread.

And for those of us unhappy with the way things are: we need to vote. I know there is an election in Georgia coming up soon for a House spot, to fill a vacancy left when someone ended up in the cabinet (sorry for being vague; I'm not sure exactly when and where and what....). Some states have their state officials elected in the "off years", so that will be coming up. Ohio, we are kinda stuck until 2018, which is when our major state offices are up for election. Be a part, however you can. I wish I could have gone to some of the marches, but physically I just can't. But I read, and stay informed, and even if I usually don't gush on here, I am a proud bleeding heart liberal. Whose heart still hurts over how things went. And one of my new heroes is Rachel Maddow...

This is for a Pennsylvania state legislature The Democrats are trying to win by a write-in campaign

HAPPENING NOW: Democrats Get Out the Vote for Tuesday's Special Election in Pennsylvania

RIGHT NOW: Hundreds of volunteers are swarming the streets, fighting to elect progressive Democrat Emilio Vasquez to the Pennsylvania House in Tuesday's special election.

This is a Democratic-leaning district, but Republicans are trying to steal it after they convinced a GOP judge to keep Emilio off the ballot. If Republicans gain another vote in the state House, they could move aggressively to attack unions, defund Planned Parenthood, and pave the way for Trump’s health care repeal.

I have to admit something to all of you...I was in the middle of this email about to tell all of you this was not the place to discuss politics. I was going to make a comment about something one of you wrote, and I scrolled up to see who that person was, and on my way up I stopped to read some of the other comments people wrote regarding politics. I was so impressed with the dedication, commitment, and the comments written here by EJourneys, Buckeye Shelby, geekling, and meyati...that I decided I would change my original comments to the following: Good for you...all of you go ahead with your comments about politics. EJourneys listed some websites, and I am impressed with her commitment as well as others. I am frequently in touch with the Congressman in my district, and we don't always agree, but at least I "always" get a response from him. What we are doing or not doing for our veterans is a crime! I myself am a veteran of the Vietnam era, (I'm 72). Recently I was having a problem with the cost of insulin from my local pharmacy so I called my Congressman's local office for assistance. He returned my call, from Washington no less, and told me he recently hired an assistant to handle issues that veterans were having, and that he would have him call me. The call came, and my problem was solved. The point is call your local politicians whether you voted for them or not. Awhile back I called his office again with regard to a local veteran who had committed suicide. This guy was suffering from PTSD and called to make an appointment to see a psychiatrist. They told him the earliest he could get in was 6 months from now because the local VA clinic only had one psychiatrist. A couple of days later he went to the VA clinic, and in the parking lot he doused himself with gasoline and lit himself on fire. After I had made the call to my Congressman he told me that he, and his veteran assistant were already on top of it. About 4-6 months later he called me and told me that this clinic now has 3 psychiatrists. But it took another veteran committing suicide to generate change. Change that should have already been in place. My best to all of you...Russ

Russ thank-you for your insights. I try to keep political remarks health and mostly cancer orientated. Even though I am now battling more serious health issues than cancer now. Because my cancer was environmentally caused. I often get off on environmental rants. Also cuts in healthcare will affect my family. My son couldn't get health care under Obamacare now will never be able to get healthcare. And a general depression has come over me. I do not sleep at night because I worry. I have a whole lot of other political issues which I save for Facebook; increased Military spending, education, and the WALL to name a few. I prefer to discuss on Facebook because I am not so restrained there.

Hey Russ, would you be interested in signing some petitions by veteran associations? I belong to several vet associations that have members of both political parties, and supports vet politicians of both parties.

If so, go to IAVA.org---IraqAfghanistanVet.organization That's the group that put on the .Ccommander's Debate between Hillary and Trump. They are supporting Medicare and Social Security benefits, because so many disabled vets use these programs. The current petition is a statement that they are independent, and won't be used by politicians. Vets are supposed to receive an increase in benefits, which they are concerned would make them seem to be supporting the current administration.

My son is a 100% disabled vet-injured at sea. His VA is a regional center, and they do have the psycharitrists. Even with that, he had a friend commit suicide in the parking lot. She met with a medical school resident at the VA. She was a pleasant looking woman, and she told him that she wanted to be admitted, as she was highly suicidal. He told her no way, and told her to go home and cook. She went to her car, wrote that she would prove that she was suicidal, and she blew her brains out. That was in the '90s. The VA banned weapons, and started riding the interns hard.

You might be interested in following Jason Kandar, a young Democrat vet, in Missouri. He served in the sand box. He's trying to publicise harmful things to our voting rights, and practices. He was the state attorney general, and ran for senator. He was targeted, and the Republicans spent millions in different PACS to defeat him.

I've got to go--Bless you for every phone call you make, as that helps other vets of all ages. I know that you are more than a vet-you are an American, and you are much more than a cancer patient, so I know that you work on issues other than your personal ones.

      I need to go

      It just wont stop.

I thought that people joined Congress for power and money as 'side effects' of becoming public servants. It looks as though Trump wants to use his Trump card and lord over Congress by threatening them if they dont vote for his crappy stay sick plan. He is trying to assure the 535 that he will run a candidate against them and in all other ways withdraw support and sabotage their re-election.

      Nice guys!

Do you play games on smart phones? If you play a game, Trump has bought up most of the advertising space with the latest and coolest TRUMP TWEETS. You can't escape it. I did get one pop up that asked me if I wante to block latest TRUMP TWEETS. I clicked on YES-- but then it seemed to freeze my phone up. I just keep thinking of the NAZI-- Hitler everywhere, the Soviets- Stalin everywhere.

Yes-- and his commissars in every office to make sure that DeVos etc do not deviate from the party line- and they report ot a Trump lackey-- the message is clear like the Congressmen--
