Did any of you get the CMS survey from Medicare? Are you filling it out? I trashed mine several weeks ago. I got a reminder that I didn't

fill mine out and they'd send me a new one. I called them up and told them to leave me alone. It was all about emotional feelings. NOWHERE DID IT HAVE THE PLACE TO SAY THAT I HAD WHOOPING COUGH 9 MONTHS LAST YEAR-AND I TRIED TO GET SHOOTS TO PREVENT THINGS LIKE WHOOPING COUGH< BUT MEDICARE PREVENTED ME GETTING THEM. They just to dope us up so we don't complain-and not even any killers. A POX on these stingy people.

Dont know what sort of questionaire you got but I am sorry you are aggrieved.

Medicare keeps asking for money because it wants reimbursement for my emergency room expenditures when I got hit by a car. What do I have to do with it?

I called today to straighten things out and got a recording that said someone would call me back after several minutes. I called at 9:09 in the morning. It is tomorrow morning and they havent called yet. If I dont straighten it out soon, they threaten penalties and interestinterest.

I THINK I might have gotten one awhile back. I can't remember if I completed it. I'm bad about intending to and never getting around to it. Seems like I did get a reminder that I hadn't done it. Think I ignored that too.

Frustrating when they don't allow costs to help keep us safe :(

I think the paint fumes and Stonewalls passing go to me. My next to last sentence---They just want to dope us up so we don't complain-and not even any pain killers.

If they really cared about senior health- why aren't they asking if we have digestive problems from teeth problems? If the meds kill our appetites? Why don't they ask if we exercise at home, if we won't go to a gym? Why don't they ask if there is any reason we can't swim or jog, etc? For example having cancer and treatment in my nose area, I've been told not to swim-especially at a health center-because people have things like Hep-HIV-and they pee in the pool. Gee. I have to wear a face mask to vacuum.

I really wish that I hadn't trashed the CMS health survey- and I could show my Congressman that it didn't really want to know about my health and how Medicare is failing me.

Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services. It's supposed to be the quality control---I have not seen any quality from them-

I don't have the phone number--I threw it out when I called the other day and told them to quit bothering me- If it's in the mail-I will get it-otherwise I won't.

Still keep praying that we can find a coonhound-

Medicare doesnt give a crapola about you or me or anybody. The only reason we have it is because sensitive and wealthy noses are offended by the stench of the bodies of folks who have died alone in their homes.

They wont give you eyeglasses because they dont care if you can see where you are going and dont want a visit. They wont give you hearing aids because they dont want you to be able to hear all the rin arounds and they wont fix your teeth because if you cant eat you soon wont be a bother and they certainly cant be expected to understand your toothless complaints.

Are you looking for another dog as companion for Missy?

I dont know much about these dogs but apparently you can also adopt from another State.

      Best wishes

geekling, I have been a member of Rescue Me for quite a few years. I don't want a senior, as I don't want to help a strange dog to pass after paying medical bills. We thought that we found a good hound at Ft. Riley Kansas- he's 3, but he's 90 lbs and is a non-stop brawler. Missy is healthy, but she's like a 120 year old human because of her size, her actual age of 11, Somehow, I think that I know the hound connections around here a bit better than you.

Different hounds have different traits--. We don't want a puppy-we prefer something between the age of 18 months to 4. I keep checking the pounds around here. Oh, Missy is no good with female dogs- so that reduces the selection by about 2/3 rds.

We found a Bluetick in West Texas. We're getting him Monday. He seems to be a purebred-ears are a giveaway for Blueticks- their ears hang differently than all other hound breeds.

The questions that are on adoption forms----Are you a student? Do you plan on having a baby? Why do you want this dog? How many square feet are in your fenced
yard? How often do small children visit you? Who lives in your house and how old are they? Who were you vets for the last 10 years?

Normal questions: What pets do you own and how old? How high is your fence? Will you get vet care? Is this your first dog? Where will the dog sleep? Do you chain your dog outside?

The one question that I hate is-- Inside or Outside---they should have: In and out--or-Wherever it darn well pleases---- a 80 lb PLUS hunting dog isn't a delicate 6 lb teacup that needs to be protected from sun, wind, rain and snow.--
