Did anyone have trouble healing due to diabetes?
My incision looked good when I went for my first checkup after the surgery, but then the tissues started opening back up. I was left with a wound that wouldn't clos up due to the blood supply dieing and nerves dieiny

Having diabetes does complicate would healing. It's really important to keep your blood sugars in control. The wounds should heal but it will definitely take a lot longer and need more agressive wound healing than the "average" person.
Make sure your surgeon has a wound plan in place. If he doesn't, you may want to see a plastic surgeon or a doctor who specializes in wound care.

I finally healed but it took about eight weeks. It had to heal from the inside out and was left open while healing. I had to make sure the bandages were change and the wound cleaned everyday. Since the nerves had died it didn't hurt though. Still doesn't.
