Did you celebrate after you finished treatment?

I'm 9 chemo sessions down and I have 3 to go. I also have radiation afterwards but I think I want to celebrate a bit somehow before I start that.

What did you do to celebrate, if you did? I don't want to take a full vacation just yet, maybe a mini vacation somewhere nearby. I'd love some ideas : ) (are we allowed to swim on/right after chemo?)

My celebration was rather lowkey. My best friend took me out to dinner.

My first two times was 24 and 25 years ago, I was young and then there wasn't as much emphasis put on celebrating beating cancer, but I wish I would have went big and took video, pictures and the whole bit.

4.5 years ago I had another round and we did have a get together with all family and friends that wanted to come over. It was fun. I suggest you do one.

Yes i sure did my family and i went to some nearby cabins and relaxed for a whole weekend though i was still very tired and weak i enjoyed it to the fullest. ...U know finishing chemo is a big deal in itself and i think anything u choose to do after to celebrate will have a sense of newness and happiness like turning to a fresh page in ur life and i congratulate u on ur journey to becoming well and i wish u nothing but the best!!!!!

I completed Chemo in January, and turned 50 in March. I had a party to celebrate my birthday, but more to celebrate life and love. I invited all my family, who helped so much during treatments, and those friends who were supportive to either me or my family while I was sick. We had a DJ and dancing, and just a lot of fun. :) I was glad I waited a little while after the side effects had minimized.

I went to Ruidoso NM and I was told to still stay out of the sun for about 6-8 weeks after chemo. We have a pool so as soon as I could, I would swim! I remember loving the smell of clorine? Is that weird or what????

I finished treatment just a week before Halloween so I had a major Halloween party at my parents house. It was standing room only in the whole house, and we had such a good time. It was so fun to see how many people came out to wish me well. I have a pumpkin carving party every year now, to celebrate another year cancer free! BTW-I only have 3 scans left, and one is on thursday!
