    Do cigars have nicotine?

My dad was just diagnosed and he loves to smoke cigars. Could they have given him cancer? I thought it was nicotine in cigarettes that cause cancer and I wasn't sure if cigars do.

Yes. Here's an information sheet on cigars, from the National Cancer Institute http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Tobacco/cigars

As an ex cigarrette smoker... Tobacco use causes cancer... Chewing contributes to oral cancer - tongue, cheek, jaw, etc. Saw one man who had his entire lower jaw removed to save his life... he was in his late teens. Not to scare you but smoking of anything causes cancer. Nicotiene is the addictive ingredient that some mfgs. add more of... to hook us worse. I quit smoking almost seven years ago... The day I had my ovarian Cancer removed. Nicotine gets into mucas membranes and cause cancers of all types. Help your father to quit... please...
