Do you ever wish you had gotten a “less scary” cancer?

I know that all cancers are equally terrifying, but I cannot wrap my head around brain cancer.

You know once we had it apparently under control, doctor (at Fred Hutchinson, no less!) told me, "Well, you had a scary cancer." It did not take long for that to sink in. At first, we were hoping that it was some form of Hodgkin's Lymphoma or perhaps an indolent form of non-Hodgkin's. But it was what it was, and I had about 12 weeks of life left at diagnosis. But, that was 4 1/2 years ago now With a different cancer, my journey would have taken another course and I would not have emerged from it being the same as I am today. Since everything happens for a reason, I would not change a thing.

You are right all cancer is scary to the patient and thier loved ones, some just easier to beat so the scare lasts a shorter time. At some point you may get to where I am, no longer scares but determined to fight and win against the cancer, but cautious to make sure I do everything I need to win. You don't need to wrap your head around the brain cancer it is trying to wrap its self around your head. What you need to do is scare it out of your brain and body. Good Luck!!
