As the day goes on, my stomach starts to blow up so much that I look like 8 month pregnant. The doctors don't know what it is. I feel like I got jipped with a tummy tuck. I am 9 months out from my double mast.. Had cat scan and nothing showed. I can't fit into any clothes.

I haven't had that problem. I had a flap taken from the right side of my stomach to cover the wound on the right side of my chest. This was medically necessary as opposed to breast reconstruction but the procedure is the same. I tend to agree with Delcinea that your bloating is probably due to something else and not related to your surgery.

I didn't have this but try eating a yogurt daily. You need some good bateria in your tummy and that does work might take a few days. Wis I could have some other words of wisdom but at this time I don't. Hope this helps I do know your are miserable. Blessings to you.

You might be having some lymphedema problems if they took any lymph nodes from you. I have a few friends with Truncal edema, and they wear compressive clothing to help keep it in check and directed towards the groin nodes for removal. With scars forming all over the chest area after the flap, the lymph fluid needs to go somewhere, and it follows the path of least resistance. You might want to see a lymphedema specialist to check this angle out since nothing else has panned out or accounted for it.

I also have trouble with belly area. I did not have a diep flap but did have hysterectomy for cervical cancer and bilateral mastectomy from breast cancer. My stomach will be smaller in the mornings but grows through out the day. I have been diagnosed with lymphedema. I was sent to physical therapist to learn techniques to help the fluid move. I also recieved compression garments and a compression machine that I use daily. My swelling is not gone but it is under control. Before I started the therapy, machine and garments I had lots of swelling, stomach, genitals, both legs and feet.

I had bilateral mastectomy and DEIP flap 6 weeks ago. Have had lots of complications. One of them is the horrible bloating in my stomach. I feel terrible. It is hard to breath, eat, sit, lie down. I also had a cat scan than showed no blockage. My plastic surgeon says he has never seen this before, but as I started to poke around the internet, I have found that it is a common occurance for many woman after the surgery. I won't go into how angry I am at him!! He made this surgery sound so easy. I am so sorry you are going through this. I realize this response is a year after your post, so I am wondering how you are doing now. I have read that for some women it can take months to even years to go away. I am really scared. Hope you are better.

I had the DEIP surgery last year and I am still struggling with belly bloating. It gets so bad that I can hardly move. I've been through all kinds of testing and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong internally. Like Tiny I am very angry at my plastic surgeon for not being up todate on complications after this type of surgery
