Don't you just love it when

You go into your appointment and the nurse start in with: Have you ever drank alcohol or done Illegal drugs?

I always respond with: Well since my DX of LC I have seriously been considering doing both..Do you have any suggestion on where I can get really good cheap drugs and alcohol around here.?

It always catches them off guard and then they bust out laughing.

I then say: Well I have never done either and just look at where it got me..

Might as well start in on them both now,,I mean what can it hurt? Right...Geez...what will happen?? will I get cancer? It dosn't pay to be the good girl..so might as well get out there and live it up.

Yup, I can relate. My oncologist asked if I'd had any nausea. I replied that I haven't. She said to let her know if I did and they could prescribe something. I reminded her they had given me scrips for compazine and zofran when I was discharged from the hospital, and I said, "I also have some killer weed" and without cracking a smile she said "Good, because we don't prescribe that here."

So I am thinking of starting a club called "Cancer cougars".

Our mission is to make every young cancer fellow-intern blush..to leave them with an unforgetable image in their mind of "Cancer folks who are courageous and not afraid to say whats on their minds"..Yup,,I am going to warn these young'ins that I am a Cancer Cougar and my goal is to make them blush...

So bring your intrusive questions ..I don't mind..I have a few for you too....Let's see who wins!!!

I think it is great you have such a good sense of humor. Its the only way to make it a more tolerable experience. Humor can lighten the mood very quickly.
