Ever wonder if your strong enough to survive treatment for you cancer due to a previous life threatening illness you've yet to recover from?

I'm already having some pretty strong reservations about getting through treatment. I've been severly beaten down with one of the worst case senerios of pneumoina with the worst possible complications. In a comma, on advance life support for 37 days, major organs failed, was revived (X7) . I've not gotten my strengh or stamina close to my norm, my life has been so sedentary for more 2 years now that any strenuous activity produces dangerously rapid heart rate. Physically, mentally, spiritually, I'm just not certain this is going to be a "life saving" process. Seems like these last 2 recovery processes from what I would say were simple surgeries has been so much more difficult to overcome. Is it just that I'm getting to old for this stuff, or am I correct in believeing that I've not yet fully recovered from my last bout with pneumonia in 2010? And if I've not recovered from that yet how am I going to get through Chemo and Radiation therapy alive. I'd never ask this to my wife.

Dvd, I know that sometimes we all have doubts about getting through treatments. I too do not have the physical strength I used to. When I was first diagnosed we owned a horse farm that I used to do 40 to 60 hours a week of hard physical labor in addition to my normal full time job, so I was very busy. Due to my cancer we had to sell the farm. SoIunderstand how not being able to do the physical things makes you feel.

Have you tried physical therapy? I have used physicalb therapy to help with muscle pain and weakness. They can show you exercises that will help you feel better and do more. They are trained to work with people that have had physical issues. After I recover from my surgery next week I will be going back to physical therapy for my back whichseems to hurt alot and is weak. I expect they will be able to help me become more active. I think it could help you too. Good luck.

Sending you healing vibes and hugs. I have been battling advanced renal cell (kidney) carcinoma for 3+ and just this past April my Trip Neg Breast cancer metastasized, so I understand how disheartening this can be. I try to keep up beat and take care of myself. I get regular massage and energy work (I'm really into alternative/complementary modalities of healing) I also mediate which helps with some with the stress. Know that you are not alone, and it's ok to be mad, sad, not ready, etc. Speak to your team about referrals and suggestions to keep you in the best physical and emotional state possible.
