    For those with throat cancer.

Does anyone experience pain in your mouth? The only way I can describe my pain is it feels like cankor sores and burns all day every day. I've tried all things to take away the taste but nothing works. Any suggestions? This has been going on for over a year.

Do you have sores in your mouth, from the radiation or chemo? This happened to me, twice. Docs gave me a solution to shish in my mouth to numb it, and help heal it. I was also told to rinse with peroxide and water solution several times a day. I'm sure someone else has had similar circumstances, they should answer soon.
Hope your getting a handle on these sores!

No sores in my mouth at this time. It just FEELS like cankor sores that is the only way I can describe the pain thats going on in my mouth. I had thrush from Chemo and that lasted almost a year. The doctors gave me meds to heal it but nothing worked except time. The pain in my mouth is from radiation. Thanks so much for your post.

In addition to magic mouthwash, I used a simple baking soda/warm water solution to rinse three times a day. Really worked.

Have you used viscous zylocaine? It provided me with some relief.

I've a friend who had a mouth cancer who gargled lydocaine a lot.

You can deal with the thrush by adding fermented food to your diet. I know it must be painful to eat some things but, if you can, yogurt with active culture, sour cream, raw sauerkraut (actually cabbage in any form), horseradish, kimchi, fermented veggies and such. The chemo mucks with your internal flora. There are also pro-biotic pills you can buy and add to a g-tube feeding if this is where you are.

There is also a healing oil from the Middle East (not India or China) called "nigella sativa" which is made from a black cumin seed which aids in healing.

      Ask your docs.

      Feel better soon.

Thank you so much for your responses. I do not have thrush anymore. I have used magic mouthwash for a long time. That helps for a few minutes. I've also used zylocaine. What I am describing in my mouth is a taste that does not go away. Nothing helps. I spray biotene in my mouth constantly. Again thanks for the comments.
