After each round of chemo, I get this funny taste in my mouth and strange smell that comes and go in my nose I just can't shake it...is this a normal reaction?!

Chemo completely changed how everything tasted for me. Even left a horrible, almost metallic taste in my mouth. At Texas Oncology you can't walk more than a foot without seeing a bowl of hard candy. These are all normal reactions to chemo.

This is a very common problem, we had a blog post on our blog a few months ago covering this. Here is a link to it. https://www.whatnext.com/blog/posts/12-ways-to-battle-metallic-taste-from-chemo

Yes this is normal. Everything is tasteless, even water. Good news is that it doesnt last too long.

Very normal. You can't expect food to give you that same pleasurable taste that it used to. Look at the food as just fuel. I did enjoy chicken, eggs, watermelon - to name a few. Those foods remained unchanged. Eventually the taste buds get back to normal. And the smells and odors were intense. Scented candles would be too strong. Good luck with this. This too shall pass!
