    Genetic Testing

Has anyone's doctor recommended genetic testing? My doctor suggesting that I get the Colaris test.

Stunned Mike, Merry Xmas!! My name is Carm and I am an oncology/end of life nurse and I have seen Colaris recommended often, if that bit of info might help. Colaris, like Polaris (pancreatic cancer genetic test), and the BRCA 1 & 2 (breast & ovarian cancer genetic test), are all testing done by Myriad Labs. They hold the patent on the test and they do the Colaris testing. The majority of colorectal cancers are considered a familial hereditary disease, so it would make sense that you be tested in order to alert other family members to the possibility of the nutation in the bloodline. You can go to Myriads' website and check out the test and its information. Because they hold the patent, they are the only ones who can read the results. Best of luck to you, and I hope you are having wonderful holidays surrounded by joy, Carm.
