    Halaven

Has anyone ever been on Halaven for metastatic breast cancer? If so, please share your views on it regarding side effects, effectiveness, etc. as it is one of a few options I was given by my oncologist. Thanks.

I have been in it since September. I have not had any bad issues. Just some neuropathy. After 6 doses my tumors shrank by 40%.

I just started this past September. I have had 8 rounds. My hair started falling out then stopped a couple of days before I had my brother in law shave my head. I had a lot of bald spots so I still had him shave it. It is growing back though.

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear there are not too many side effects. Is the neuropathy severe or manageable? My oncologist said that I could be on Halaven for up to 6 months. Do you know how much longer you may be on it? Sorry if I am bombarding you with so many questions, but I want to make an informed decision this time around. Physically I am not the strongest person. I will keep you in my prayers. God Bless You.

I have 4 more treatments. The. We will reassess. The neuropathy doesn't other me too much. It just feels weird, but he decreased the dosage last month due to the neuropathy. It much and I'm not sure it even made a difference. I've been having issues with my right side the past few days. I don't know what is going on. Just hurts when I try to take a deep breath. I was just in tears yesterday from the pain and I have a pretty high pain tolerance. I go for another treatment Tuesday and I hope they can figure it out. That is the lung that has the mets. But my shoulder hurts also, like pressure.

I'm currently on it. After 4 months the cancer is stable (which is great because 2 previous drugs failed). I have moderate hair loss. It's thin, but I still have it. I also experience a small amount of fatigue. Recently I have had some nausea, but it's not severe.
