Hard knot under my armpit... 8 weeks post modified radical mastectomy

    Hi Friends,

Not that I have been "feeling" my armpits a lot since surgery. However, the swelling has only recently gone down and in the shower last night I notice a hard not right in the middle of my armpit - it is relatively deep, doesn't move, doesn't hurt and is hard. I had 12 nodes removed from that side 3 were positive. I see my onco on 4/19. Wondering if it's something to be alarmed about and try to get in sooner??

    Thanks!

Best thing for you to do is to call the Dr office and ask them

I'm with chutzpah, I suspect it might be scar tissue, but better to safe then sorry.

I'm on the scar tissue path, but call your Dr just to make sure.

My node surgery was last July and the area around the scar is still hard and raised. Surgeon said it will eventually diminish, but will take time.
