I'm sorry to see that you haven't gotten a response to your question. I haven't started nexavar yet, but it looks like it will be in my future. I'm not real excited about that prospect. ;(

I hope you get some responses. I could use the information also.

My prayers are with your Dad and your family.

I took it but after three months it quit working, Now I am on a trial in Memphis, TN

I did not know that the mean for success with Nexavar was only 5 month.

I do not if the trial is working yet but I do know that some of the my liver function is getting worse. I don't know if that is the cancer of the chemo.

Oh and to the other question. Until 5 years ago they did not even have nexavar, and no the other stuff they will shove at him is just poison for the sake of putting him through something, they will use him like a Lab rat.

Is the Nexavar working? Make sure they give him something for the diarrhea and loss of fluids. They can and that will help a lot.

I see this question was asked in March. How is it going for you ? My husband has been on nexavar for 8 months. He was on the full dosage of 4 pills until he had a bout with diarrhea and they took him off for about 2 weeks and reduced the dosage to 3 pills. You do have to monitor your blood pressure while on this and we use Immodium Ad for the diarrhea but so far the tumor marker is down to 5 and as long as the bloodwork looks good he can continue to take the nexavar. We asked the Doctor how long you can stay on the nexavar and was told some stay as long as 3 years. As anyone else been able to stay any longer?

My husband was on Nexavar for 6 months. He could only take two pills per day due to some side effects (blisters on feet ). The tumors did shrink but after 6 months they began to grow again. He is now off Nexavar and had chemo embolization last week. He needs another chemo embolization next month and then he will go back on Nexavar.
