      Dlcmeighan,
I am an oncology nurse and not a patient but I can tell you that Nocardosis with secondary brain abscess can come from therapies like chemotherapy or a stem cell transplant. Although it is not common, it does happen in a select few. If I remember correctly, I believe M. D. Anderson did a study on the incidence of Nocardosis some years back. I hope this information helps you.

Thank you so much for responding. I feel like the odd person out. No one understands or even comes close to knowing what I went through and the long term effects this has all had on me. My doctor tells me now because of that infection I can never ever have any chemo again. I fear that this throws me out of any hope for stem cell, immunotherapy, or clinical trials. Leaving only radiation which I endured last July for a reoccurrence of My follicular Lymphoma. I dare say I don’t wish Radiation on anyone. What am I to do?

      Dlcmeighen,
You should be a candidate for CAR-T cell therapy. It is approved for blood cancers. There are also biologics that might be a possibility. There are options...never say never...the landscape of oncology changes all the time.

M.D. Anderson is a hospital in Texas. There are many branches but the main one is in Houston. This is the link to the article. https://academic.oup.com/ajcp/article/142/4/513/1767051
