Has anyone had a tumor frozen?

Apparently there is an new procedure in which a needle is inserted into the tumor to freeze it. My surgeon discussed this with me and he says that insurance will cover it, so I am going to try it. Can anyone tell me what to expect?

The procedure that you are referring to is called cryotherapy. I am attaching a link for you. I am an oncology nurse that specializes in gyne cancer so if you have any questions, you know where to find me. Best of luck, Carm RN.

To beantownnurse: I have the "garden variety" endometrial cancer, Endometrioid Adenocarcinoma. I have a new tumor on my liver right next to where I had the last one cut out in Nov. This is another option, which my surgeon likes. I had not heard of this treatment before which is why the question.

Had cancerous cells frozen about 35 years ago. Five months ago diagnosed with uterine cancer. It was called cryosurgery. Don't know if the basics would be the same.
