Has anyone had experience with hallucinations as a symptom?

I had a bad night the other night. I woke up seeing spiders on the wall and it seemed like the pictures and clock on the wall were swirling.

I have had that experience--the sprinkler and light on the ceiling turned into giant flies. But it wasn't connected to my cancer drugs. It happened when I got a knee replacement. First the nurses didn't give me ANY drugs for pain, then they gave me way too much! I fell asleep about 5 times while trying to eat my dinner and later woke up and found a cookie under the sheets! But what you describe sounds exactly like my experience.

I don't know if this helps but my father was given Ambien in the hospital to help him sleep, it gave him very bad hallucinations like what you describe (spiders everywhere). I did some research and found that it is very common especially in men. Remember that you are in high stress right now and your brain can react in very strange ways, it may not be the cancer but the stress causing this. I hope this helps, Tracy

I am sure that you are on decadron and those hallucinations are a result of the steroid. It is very common with decadron. Hope you feel better soon, Carm.

I have had no chemo,so far,but three surgeries for colon cancers,I saw hospital employees dressed up like cartoon characters, misbehaving, and of July 4th,2012.I saw my very dignified Doctor, dressed up like Yankee Dooble,,,I believe that this was either caused by the powerful iv antibiotics,or the stress or both...But, it did abate,,thank heavens.
