    Has anyone had experience with recurrent rectal cancer spreading only up to lymph nodes as high as the aorta?

    Has anyone had experience with recurrent rectal cancer spreading only up to lymph nodes as high as the aorta?

    There is no spread to other organs and after treatment the lymph nodes returned to normal size. I am finished with Chemo and getting a 2nd opinion before radiation because there is controversy as to whether to radiate that high before surgery. Male age 59. Drs say the original surgery TEM changed blood flow as reason for unusual spread pattern.

      Not sure if this answers or not, but my family member had rectal cancer spread to both lungs and then brain. No lymph node or liver involvement. Doctors said that was rare.
