Has anyone had fevers from radiation?

my husband is having radiation after his surgery for pancreatic cancer. He keeps running a fever and rhet have taken him off chemo for several weeks because of it. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I have had radiation twice during the years I've been treated. I never experienced a fever from the radiation. Most likely it's from a low white blood count from the chemo. I did have that happen a couple times. White blood cell count drops, then you get an infection real easy. Since the docs took him off chemo, that's what it probably is. He needs to stay away from sick people, you can pick up a bug real easy in that condition. Good luck to you both!

Thanks for your response. They have done all kinds of tests and worked with an infectious disease specialist and can't find an infection. His white blood cell count is within the normal range. They can't seem to figure it out, but I'm worried that he's not getting his chemo since it's su posed to make his radiation more effective.

Joyce, I have daily radiation treatments. It has been close to three weeks now and I haven't experienced any fever.
