Has anyone had more than one biopsy of the same tumor?

My oncologist has ordered another biopsy of a tumor in my lung because the report stated "it is a possibility of metastatic melanoma".

To answer your question, my oncologist told be that he believed with all his being that he was looking at cancer before the first biopsy, when the results came back negative, he didn't for a second believe it and had me undergo surgery to get a bigger and better biopsy, he sent it to three different pathologists. He was absolutely correct as all three of the second biopsies came back positive.
