Has anyone had radiation for breast cancer that spread to the skin?
I had rt in the past. Now having it on right breast, underarm, shoulder and spot on back. Interested in knowing others experience, best moisturizer to use, and anything else you can share.

The spread is not from radiation itself. I have skin lesions from the breast cancer on my shoulder, underarm, right chest, and a little on my back. When the lesions showed up on my shoulder and a little under my arm I thought they were lymph nodes. My physical therapist mentioned skin lesions and when I looked back at the oncologist's note I saw he mentioned bcmets to the skin. I have had two radiation treatments so far. I did start to use miaderm. I have lymphedema on the right side already. I know the treatments will make it worse so am starting to counter that with more massage and wrapping. I'm concerned about my right lung as I already have pleural effusions that I'm dealing with. I had my right lung tapped a month ago and feel fine so far. I have a pleurx cath in my left side. My husband drains it twice a week. I do appreciate the responses.

I used Aquafor in early stages, but it is very greasy and had to be removed before each radiation session. When burns got worse, I switched to "Jean's Cream" -- it's soothing, not greasy at all, and absorbs in. Once blisters formed, the oncology nurse gave me some Mepilex sheets (silicone with no adhesives) that are used for burn patients. Finally, the doctor gave me a prescription for Silverdene burn cream, which soothes and fights against infections. Good luck to you.

Thanks everyone. I do appreciate the feedback. Right now I am using the Miaderm. I also have Aquaphor. The Jean's Cream, Silverdene and Mepilex Sheets are good options to know about. Thanks again.
