Has anyone had the DaVinvi Robot Hysterectomy surgery (along with other parts removed)?

Wondering about pain afterward. it has been a little over a week since the surgery and things hurt now that didn't hurt this previous week. Still hurts to go to the bathroom as well. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this and can share?? Thanks

I had a DaVinci Robot Hysterectomy on April 21st, with both ovaries also removed, because of a diagnosis of endometrial cancer. I had a bad second week, with lots of bowel problems and an allergic reaction, probably to one of the pain drugs, and also more discomfort from aches than during the first week. Theory is that the anesthesia from the surgery has a lasting effect for several days, then wears off, so that more pain is felt, and this might apply to you. Another factor causing pain may be intestinal gas and constipation and swelling in the belly that typically shows up second week. To compare your experience with other women, you might like to try a similar type of website to this one, but for women experiencing the aftermath of hysterectomy. It's called Hystersisters, and I have found it very helpful as I progress through my own recovery. I'm almost at four weeks now, and feeling pretty great, but some women are having a slower recovery and more problems than I have. There is a wealth of information about hysterectomies on this site, including stories from women with gynecological cancer. I had a good path report, with the cancer completely contained in my now gone uterus, so I am now considered cancer free. Good luck to you in your own recovery.

Wondering how you made out? I had ovaries and tubes removed 4 days ago and I am miserable with gas pain and being constiptated. Nothing seems to work? Please let me know.

I had radical hysterectomy and appendix removed on Jan. 23,2012. Bloating and gas take a wait to subside. I felt much better when I walked. I didn't feel like it but did it anyway. I used docolax for the constipation. Eat frozen banana slices
      when stool is to soft.

I also had a DaVinci robot hysterectomy in November 2012. And like you, I had more pain after the first week. It does get better! I found that walking really helped, but I had to force myself to do it.
