Has anyone have or had problems with mood swings while taking Anastrozole?

I've been on Anastrozole for a year and 2 months so far. Other than hot flashes I have tolerated well. Recently, I've noticed that my mood changes quickly and I can go from feeling fine to feeling down. This is not normal for me. I'm usually very upbeat. Has anyone had a problem with this? What helps? I exercise regularly. I'm not on any prescription drugs except Anastrozole. Thanks!

I can't answer about that drug, but the steroids that I took drove me batty. Since that drug is a hormone I can see that it would alter your mood swings. @carm would probably know more about it. She will see this and give you some information.

I've been on this drug for six years now. A hot flash once in a while is my only side effect. I would ask the doctor about it.

Thank you for all of your responses. My Oncologist left and I'm starting with a new Oncologist in December so I'll hang in there until then. Meanwhile, I'll exercise and get up and out when the lows hit. I've started taking a B complex vitamin so maybe that will help. Thanks again!

I have been on anastrozole since February, 2019. I get hot flashes occasionally, usually when I’m stressed. I agree about the mood swings/intolerance. I feel taking this is important because I am so afraid of recurrence.
